Setting the Laptop Status on Clients

You can change the client status of a non-laptop client to a Laptop Client by any one of the following methods:

• Selecting the Configure for Laptop Backup option when you install the File System Agent.

• Running qscript enableLaptopBackup with the first parameter set to ON.

  Example:

  qoperation execscript -sn enableLaptopBackup -si 'ON' -si 'clientName'

These clients are automatically added to the Laptop Client Computer Group with a rule of Client equal to Laptop Client.

To display the Commvault Edge Monitor program on the Task Bar Notification area (system tray), execute the CvEdgeMonitor.exe.

To automatically start the CvEdgeMonitor.exe:

1. From Windows Explorer, right click on C:\Program Files\CommVault\ContentStore\Base\CvEdgeMonitor.exe and drag to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Startup folder.

2. Click Create shortcuts here on the pop up menu.
