Use this tab to define the contents of a new subclient or to change the content of an existing subclient. Databases/storage groups/database files/subsets that are included in subclient content are backed up by the subclient. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the agent or enabler for which the information is being displayed.
Contents of subclient
Displays a list of databases/storage groups/database files included as content for this subclient.
Configure
Click to discover and change the associations of the database elements/storage groups to the subclients. Any content included for a user-defined subclient will be automatically excluded from the default subclient.
Database List
Displays the names of the databases that are currently included in the subclient content.
Database
Displays the name of the database whose file groups or files are included in the subclient content.
File Group
Displays the name of the file group as defined in the SQL Server database.
Logical File
Displays the logical file name as defined in the SQL Server database.
Physical File
Displays the file location as defined in the SQL Server database.
Edit
Click to select the SQL Server file or file groups to be backed up.
Backup Data
Specifies whether data will be backed up for this subclient, and enables/disables options for backing up the entire database or a subset. When cleared, you must select the Backup Log Files option on the Backup Arguments tab.
Entire Database
Specifies whether the entire database will be included in the subclient content.
Online Backup
Specifies that backups for this subclient will be run with the database online. If a backup is run with the database online, other applications can access the database while the backup is in progress. Online backups are available only for databases configured with the logarchmeth1 parameter enabled.
Offline Backup
Specifies that backups for this subclient will be run with the database offline. If a backup is run with the database offline, this job has an exclusive connection to the database; therefore, any other access to the database is not allowed while the backup is in progress. An offline backup cannot run if any other applications are already running on the database.
Back up Log Files
Specifies whether log files will be backed up for this subclient. When cleared, you must select the Backup Data option on the Content tab.
Note
To back up DB2 or DB2 MultiNode archive logs using the Commvault VENDOR library set the LOGARCHMETH1 and LOGARCHOPT1 parameters as described in DB2 Configuration.
Delete Log Files After
Specifies whether to delete the log files from the DB2 MultiNode log path and the archive path after a backup but still keep the files in the backup media. This field is active only when the Back up Log Files option is selected.
Data Type
Displays the type of object that has been discovered.
Virtual Server
Displays the name of the IIS virtual server that the object uses.
Portal Site/Index Server
For an object, displays the name of the Portal Site that the object is part of. For Site indexes, displays the Index Server name.
Desc
For site databases, displays the type of database. For any other items, displays an index value.
Database Server
Displays the name of the SQL instance used to store the databases.
Database Subset
Specifies whether to include a portion of the database (that is, one or more table spaces) in the subclient content. Use the tree displayed below this field to select the appropriate items to be included in the subset.
Convert Backup to Full
Specifies whether to force a full backup the next time a backup job is run.
Database Name/Storage Group Name
Displays the display name of the database element/Storage Group.
Refresh
Click to refresh the contents of the database.
Delete
Click one or more database/file/filegroup names and then this button to remove the desired databases from the subclient content.
