Verify that the following system requirements are ready for the Network Share IntelliSnap Backup for CIFS Shares:
-
The MediaAgent version of the proxy computer must be the same or earlier than the MediaAgent version of the storage policy. The backward compatibility of the CIFS snapshot jobs is not supported if the MediaAgent version of the proxy computer is later than that of the MediaAgent computer where the storage policy runs.
-
Ensure that there is no clock skew between the file server and the proxy MediaAgent, which could lead to missing incremental changes.
-
For the following arrays, Commvault Indexing version 1 is not supported. Use Commvault Indexing version 2.
-
Dell EMC Unity
-
Hitachi NAS
-
Huawei
-
-
For newly configured or upgraded client computers that use Commvault Indexing version 2, make sure that you have access to a Commvault version 11 proxy computer. Commvault version 10 proxy computers are not supported.
-
For the Huawei storage array, use Huawei OceanStor 5500 V3 with version V300R006C00 or later versions.
-
For the NetApp storage array, the CIFS shares created on the NetApp Data ONTAP 8.0 system do not inherit the access permissions from the original CIFS shares. To overcome this limitation, upgrade to an ONTAP version that supports share-level access control lists (ACLs). Alternatively, you can modify the permissions directly in the ACL on the share.
