Uninstall the CommServe Software from Instance001 of the CommServe-MediaAgent Computer

To uninstall the CommServe software from instance001, list down the software packages that are installed on the CommServe-MediaAgent computer, copy the job results folder if a File System agent is installed, perform a disaster recovery (DR) backup, and then proceed to uninstall all the existing software components.

Procedure

  1. List down the names of software packages that are currently present on the CommServe-MediaAgent computer:

    1. From the Commcell Browser, go to Client Computers.

    2. Right-click the CommServer client, and then go to View > Installed Software

    3. Make a list of all installed software packages.

  2. If a File System agent is installed, copy the job results folder to another location.

    For example,if you installed the Commvault software in C:\ directory, the job results folder is located in the C:\Program Files\CommVault\ContentStore\iDataAgent folder.

  3. Perform a DR backup to back up the CommServe database.

    1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe node, point to All Tasks,and then click Disaster Recovery Backup.

    2. Click OK to run the backup immediately.

      Verify in the Job Controller window that the Disaster Recovery Backup completes successfully.

    3. Verify that you have copied the CommServe Disaster recovery backup files (set_XXX folder under your DR directory) on an accessible location.Make a note of the disaster recovery backup file location.

      Note

      If you have a Web Server on the CommServe computer, back up the Web Server DM2 database. For more information, see Backing Up the Web Server Database.

  4. Stop all CommServe services:

    1. On the Windows task bar, click the Start button, and then go to All Programs > Commvault > Process Manager.

    2. On the Services tab, click All Services.

    3. Click Stop.

  5. Uninstall all Commvault software components from the original computer. Do not deconfigure the libraries (such as tape and disk libraries) when you uninstall the MediaAgent software.
