Locked files must be unlocked before you can open and read the contents of the file. You can unlock individual files or unlock all of the files within a folder. To unlock a file, you must be an authorized user of the file. An authorized user is typically the user account that locked the file.
Procedure

On your laptop, right-click the file or folder you want to unlock, point to Edge, and click Unlock.
