Viewing Oracle RMAN Log Files

When a backup or restore job completes, you can view information about the job.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to the client computer and right click the agent to view the backup history or restore history.

2. To view the RMAN logs, right click the job and select View RMAN log.

   This applies to jobs that are less than 7 days old.

3. To see logs for jobs that are older than 7 days, log in to client and view the logs in the jobResults folder:

   The default location for the CV_JobResults directory is software_installation_directory\iDataAgent\jobResults. The path after the jobResults directory is similar to the following:

   • Unix - CV_JobResults/2/0/job_ID/operation.out

   • Windows - CV_JobResults\2\0\job_ID\operation.out

     where operation is "restore" or "backup" and job_ID is the job's ID.
