Virtual Machine Failover and Failback Job Status Report

The Virtual Machine Failover and Failback Job Status report provides information about replication failovers to a secondary site and failbacks to a primary site. For more information see Performing Replication Failover or Failback.

This report is available for all hypervisors that support failover operations.

Generating the Report

  1. Log in to the Web Console.

  2. Click Reports > Worldwide Reports.

  3. Download the Virtual Machine Failover and Failback Job Status report as described in Downloading Reports from Commvault Store.

  4. Under Untagged, select Virtual Machine Failover and Failback Job Status.

Reported Information

You can use the Time frame control to set the time period for reporting.

The report provides the following information:

  • A chart showing the number of virtual machines that failed back, executed a planned failover, or executed an unplanned failover. Color coding indicates whether the operation was successful (green) or unsuccessful (red).

  • The Virtual machine details section provides the following information:

    • Source - The source VM for the failover or failback operation.

    • Destination - The destination VM for the failover or failback operation.

    • Job Status - The status of the failover or failback operation: (Completed or Failed).

    • Operation Type - Failback, Planned Failover, or Unplanned Failover.

    • JobId - The job that executed the failover or failback operation.

    • Start Time - When the job began.

    • Duration (mins) - The duration of the job.

    • Failure Reason - For failed jobs, information about the phase during which the failure occurred and the reason for the failure.
