To back up these items, use either an Exchange Online app or a OneDrive for Business app.

You cannot back up these items with the Teams app.

Note:

  • You can restore only Teams uploaded files to a file location. You cannot restore wikis, posts, or channel to a file location.

  • After restoring a custom tab, you must manually link the content of the tab to view it.

  • Posts associated with meetings are not backed up.

  • If you want to back up hosted content, follow the instructions in the KB article 67692.

Authentication

Modern authentication is used to access user data for backups and restores.
