Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the Salesforce access nodes. The requirements are for a physical server or a virtual server that has the Cloud Apps package installed.
Important: Use the most recent version of the operating system that is listed. The Commvault software fully supports the most recent version of an operating system, until the vendor ends support. More recent versions of the Commvault software might not install on operating systems that are not supported by the vendor anymore. For information about the support lifecycle of an operating system, contact the vendor.

Allocate an appropriate amount of temporary space in the job results directory for the backup file staging during a backup operation.
To stage the data, you must have 120% of the Salesforce used space.
The download cache path is used to temporarily store the CSV files downloaded from Salesforce. The files are either imported into the sync database or are backed up. For instructions about checking the Salesforce data storage and files storage, see Checking the Values for Salesforce Storage Usage.

You can host the database needed for Salesforce on the access node computer or on a separate computer. To review the requirements for the supported databases, see Microsoft SQL Server Requirements for Salesforce and PostgreSQL Requirements for Salesforce.
If the access node cannot access the Salesforce URL, you must use an HTTP proxy. If you use an HTTP proxy, configure the clients to access internet resources through the server.
If you use an access node that is behind a firewall, open the following ports:
For HTTPS, open 443.
For HTTP, open 8080.
If you use a Linux access node, open the following ports:
For the Salesforce cloud, open 443 (one way)
For a Microsoft SQL database, open 1433 (one way)
For a PostgresSQL database, open 5432 (one way)
Important: If you are not using the default ports, you must open the ports that you configured.

Third-party maintenance (minor) releases or feature releases that are supported by the Commvault software may not be listed in our System Requirements. When possible, Commvault provides information on any known issues related to these minor releases or feature releases. In some cases, these minor releases or feature releases affect how the Commvault software works. Commvault software may experience changes in functionality as the result of the third-party minor release or feature releases. These changes are beyond the control of Commvault. Platforms that are supported in the current version of Commvault software may not be supported in earlier versions of the software. Contact your software provider to ensure that third-party minor releases or feature releases are compatible with the Commvault software.
