After you add file servers to File Storage Optimization, you can re-run or schedule data collection jobs to update the information from the file server. You can manually run data collection jobs at the server group level, the server level, or the data source level, or you can schedule the data collection job at the server level or server group level.
If you are collecting data that is not backed up, a live scan is performed. If you are collecting data that is backed up, see Types of Scans Performed on Backed Up Data for information about the types of scans performed.
