Enable the CommServe LiveSync feature to facilitate CommServe Recovery Using High Availability CommServe Host.
Before You Begin
-
If you have a third-party firewall configured between the Production and Standby CommServe hosts, open the ports required to communicate across these firewalls. For more information, see Setting Up a Standby CommServe Using Port Forwarding Gateway Configuration.
After running the CommServe Port Forwarding Gateway Configuration workflow, you will need to Connect the Web Server or Workflow Engine to the CommServe Computer for ODBC connections to work.
-
Verify that the Status icons in the Process Manager for Production Node and Passive Node(s) are displayed in green in both the Production and Standby CommServe hosts, before enabling the CommServe LiveSync operation. For more information on the icons in Process Manager, see Verifying the Default Setup.
Procedure
-
From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System.
The System page appears.
-
Click the CommServe LiveSync tile.
The CommServe LiveSync page appears.
-
Under Replication, move the Status toggle key to the right.
-
OPTIONAL: To enable automatic failover, move the Automatic Failover toggle key to the right.
For more information on automatic failovers, see Enabling Automatic Failovers
-
Click Save.
What To Do Next
-
If a passphrase key management server is configured in the CommCell environment and the passphrase is exported to the CommServe client, then you must export the passphrase to the SQL clients of all nodes instead of exporting to CommServe client. The export of the passphrase to all clients ensures that the passphrase is available on all the nodes.
-
If an AWS Key Management Service (KMS) Server or a Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) server is configured in the CommCell environment, then you must copy the certificates to all the nodes under the same path.
-
Verify the setup from the production CommServe host to ensure that the default components are installed and configured properly. For more information, see Verifying the Default Setup.
-
Disable services from starting automatically after a client restarts. For more information, see Configuring Services to Start Automatically After a Client Restarts.
