Full System Recovery: OpenVMS File System Agent

Full system recovery of an OpenVMS file system client includes the following phases:

Preparing for a Full System Recovery

  1. You must have a backup disk image available that has the same configuration as the original system.

  2. Modify the CVOV_CONFIG.DAT file to include locked files. For more information, see Configuring Backups for Locked Files and Disaster Recovery Operations.

  3. Perform a full backup.

Recovering the OpenVMS File System Data

  1. Verify that the hard links are enabled for the restore operation. For more information, see Configuring Backups for Hard Links and Disaster Recovery Operations.

  2. Recover the file system data by following Recovering the OpenVMS File System Data.
