Complete the Databases Guided Setup for Oracle

The guided setup takes you through the process of creating a backup plan and adding an Oracle database server.

Before You Begin

  • If you are configuring a database that uses a pseudoclient, you must manually install the packages on the physical servers before you use the guided setup. For more information, see Adding a New Server.

  • Create a backup plan. For more information, see Creating a Backup Plan.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Guided setup.

    The Welcome page appears.

  2. On the Protect tab, click Configure on the Databases tile.

    The Configure Database Server page appears.

  3. Select Database running on-premises, and then select Oracle.

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Select A Plan page of the guided setup appears.

  5. From the plan list, select the backup plan to use, and then click NEXT.

    The page to install a database server appears.

  6. Click Add.

    The Add database server page appears.

  7. In the Host name box, type a comma-separated list of database instance servers.

  8. For OS Type, select the OS type.

  9. Configure the credentials using one of the following methods:

    • To use saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle to the right and select the credentials.

    • To not use saved credentials, type the User name and Password for the database server.

  10. If you selected Unix as the operating system, do the following:

    1. To grant write access to a UNIX group, such as the dba group, in the UNIX group box type the name of the group.

    2. In the SSH port number box, verify the port number.

    3. If you want to use SSH instead of user credentials, move the Use SSH key toggle to the right, and then in the SSH key path box, enter the file path.

    4. To use an SSH key file passphrase, move the Use SSH key file passphrase toggle key to the right, and then in the Passphrase box, enter the passphrase for the SSH key.

  11. Click SAVE to save the database server information.

  12. Click NEXT.

    A summary page is displayed.

  13. Review the summary, and then click FINISH.
