Converting Storage Policies to Server Plans

To convert storage policies to server plans, you first run the Policy to Plan Migration application.

Before You Begin

• Import the Policy to Plan Conversion application from the Commvault Store using the cvstoreapp package.

  For instructions about importing the Policy to Plan Conversion application from the Commvault Store using the cvstoreapp package, see Importing an App on Command Center.

• Install the latest Commvault updates before attempting the conversion.

  For more information, see Installing Commvault Software Updates.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Developer tools > CV apps.

   The CV apps page appears.

2. Click more actions > Launch.

   The Policy to Plan Migration page appears.

3. Click Server Plan.

   The Server Plan box expands.

4. Click the link in the Click here to proceed text.

   The Plan Conversion - Status page appears.

5. Under Let's convert your existing Storage Policies to Plans, click the link in the Click here to proceed text.

6. For the storage policies selection, perform one of the following steps:

   • To select individual storage policies, on the List of Storage Policies eligible for plan conversion window, select the storage policies.

   • To select all the storage policies, on the List of Storage Policies eligible for plan conversion window, select StoragePolicy Name check box, and then click Proceed.

     Note

     The number of associated subclients that is displayed for a storage policy excludes the subclients that are deconfigured or uninstalled.

7. Click OK.

8. Verify that the storage policies are successfully converted to server plans.

Results

After the conversion process completes, you will get a confirmation email. You can also verify the job progress from the list of active jobs. For instructions, see Viewing Jobs.
