Create a replication target for the following scenarios:

To identify resources that can be used for live mounts and to specify parameters for live mount operations, including live mounts that are performed for test failover.

To enable testing failover operations for VMs using live mounts.

To specify options for replication to a destination site.

To configure Distributed Storage clusters as destination sites for replication.
Before You Begin

Configure a hypervisor for the destination. For information, see the documentation for the virtualized platform that you are creating a hypervisor for. For example, for Google Cloud Platform, see Configuring Backups for Google Cloud Platform.

To use Distributed Storage datastores as recovery targets for replication, you must set up Distributed Storage clusters as storage targets. For instructions, see Configuring Distributed Storage for DR.

Review the list of options for the destination hypervisor:
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Auto recovery > Targets.
The Targets page appears.

At the top-right area of te page, click Add.
The Add Target page appears.

From the Select vendor page, select the virtual platform for the destination.

Click Next.
The General page of the replication target wizard appears

Enter hypervisor-specific values in each page that is available for the type of hypervisor.

Click Submit.
