The following procedure explains full file server migration from File Server-A to File Server-B, retaining the same proxy and network share client.
Procedure
Step 1: Note down the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of File Server-A and the name of the share.
Step 2: Create a new share on File Server-B with the same name as that on File Server-A.
Step 3: Assign the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) to File Server-B.
Step 4: Perform an in-place data restore operation on the proxy client.
You can use a full backup to perform an in-place restore operation.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers > proxy_client > Windows File System > backup_set.

Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

Click View Content.
-
Select the data that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options dialog box is appears.

Click OK.
Step 5: Configure backups to include newly added data.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > proxy_client > Windows File System > backup_set.
-
Right-click the subclient, and then click Properties.
The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.
-
Click Advanced.
The Advanced Properties dialog box appears.
-
On the Advanced Options tab, under Scan Using, clear the Check archive bit during backups check box.

Click OK.
Step 6: Enable synchronization of data on the source disk and index.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > proxy_client > Windows File System > backup_set.
-
Right-click the subclient, and then click Properties.
The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

Click Advanced.
The Advanced Properties dialog box appears.

On the Advanced Options tab, select the Reconcile Backup check box.
-
In the Every n days from the previous backup job box, enter the number of days after which any backup job will automatically synchronize the missing files.
Note
By default, the synchronization runs after every incremental job that runs after a synthetic full backup.

Click OK.
Step 7: Add new files to the subclient content.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers > proxy_client > Windows File System > backup_set.
-
Right-click the subclient, and then click Properties.
The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

On the Content tab, click Add Paths and add new files to the previously backed up path on the Isilon CIFS share.

Click OK.
The Impersonate NT User dialog box appears.

In the Impersonate NT User dialog box:

In the User Account box, type a user name.
-
In the Enter Password box, type a password.
-
In the Confirm Password box, type the same password, and then click OK.

On the Storage Device tab, in the Storage Policy list, click a storage policy name to associate with the subclient.
-
Click OK.
Step 8: Perform an incremental backup operation.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers > proxy_client > Windows File System > backup_set.
-
Right-click the subclient, and then click Backup.
The Backup Options dialog box appears.
-
To perform an incremental backup operation, in the Select Backup Type area, select Incremental.
-
Click OK.
Step 9: Verify that only the newly added files are picked by the incremental backup operation.
