Review the guidelines and requirements, install NFS-Ganesha on Linux MediaAgent, and then configure the CommCell environment.

Step 1: Review the Hybrid File Store Guidelines and Requirements

Note

If you use the Command Center to create the Hybrid File Store, the Index Server cloud is automatically configured.

Step 2: For NFS, Install NFS-Ganesha on a Linux MediaAgent

To use the NFS protocol, install NFS-Ganesha on the Linux MediaAgent. If you plan to use the SMB protocol, skip this step. For SMB protocols, the software automatically installs the Dokany application on the Windows MediaAgent.

Do one of the following:

  • Automatic installation

The CVInstallNetworkServer tool automatically installs the NFS-Ganesha server on the Linux MediaAgent. For more information, see CVInstallNetworkServer Tool.

If you performed this step successfully, then skip the manual installation instructions.

  • Manual installation

Download the NFS-Ganesha 2.8.2 for RHEL 7 version from the Commvault Store, and then follow the directions included in the install.txt file.

Step 3: Configure the CommCell Environment

  1. Create a backup plan

Associate the plan with the Hybrid File Store. You can use the same plan for multiple Hybrid File Store shares.

  2. Create and manage Hybrid File Store shares.
