AWS MediaAgent Hardware Refresh

To move an existing Linux MediaAgent hosted on an Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 instance to another AWS EC2 instance, you can use the AWS MediaAgent Refresh workflow.

Before You Begin

  • The source and the destination AWS EC2 instances must meet the following requirements:

  • The instance must be a Nitro Instance.

  • EC2 Instance must be a managed instance and meet the Systems Manager prerequisites to allow the workflow to use AWS Systems Manager Service.

  • To use an access key and secret key authentication, obtain a key pair (Access Key ID and Secret Access Key) from the Security Credentials section on your Amazon EC2 website.

  • For users who do not have administrator permissions, you must set the following permissions in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) user policy.

  • You must move the deduplication database, index cache and other required data to a non-root EBS volume.

  • Make sure that the destination MediaAgent does not contain any disk library.

  • Make sure that the CommCell user that you use for workflow execution has the following permissions:

    • Install Client permission
