Editing Entities Associated with a Schedule Policy

You can associate entities with and remove entities from a schedule policy. If you need to associate a subclient with a schedule policy, you can do that directly from the subclient.

Caution

To avoid creating duplicate schedules for the same subclient, the same schedule policy should not be associated with both the client computer group and the individual clients in the group.

Procedure

From a Schedule Policy

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies > Schedule Policies.

  2. From the Schedule Policies pane on the right, right-click the schedule_policy and click Edit.

  3. On the Association tab, click the Edit tab.

  4. To remove entities from the schedule policy, clear the check box for the entity.

For example, you can exclude a default subclient from the data protection scheduling operations.

    Note

You cannot modify the entities that are associated to schedule policies of a backup plan, in the CommCell Console. However, you can modify the entities associated to a backup plan, in the Command Center. For more information, see Modifying a Backup Plan.

  5. To associate entities with the schedule policy, select the check box for the entity.

  6. Click OK.

From a Subclient

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > agent > backup set.

  2. Click the backup set, and from the backup set pane on the right, right-click the subclient.

  3. To associate the subclient with a schedule policy, click Associate with Schedule.

The Associate to schedule policy dialog box appears.

  4. From the Select a schedule policy list, select the schedule policy to associate with the subclient.

  5. Click OK.
