Getting Started with ContinuousDataReplicator

To get started, you need to configure a client computer in the CommCell Console:

Step 1: Before You Begin

• This page assumes you have already installed CommServe software. If not, see Installations.

• Review the requirements for ContinuousDataReplicator. For more information, seeSystem Requirements - ContinuousDataReplicator.

Step 2: Install the ContinuousDataReplicator Package on the Client Computer

Step 3: Initial CommCell Console Configuration

1. Open the CommCell Console.

2. Configure a storage device. For more information, see one of the following:

   • Disk Libraries

   • Tape Libraries

3. Optional: Configure a storage policy, see Storage Policy - Getting Started.

4. Optional: Decide whether to add the following functionality:

   • To be notified of events that require attention, see Alerts and Notifications - Overview.

   • To report and analyze critical data about your CommCell operations, see Reports Overview.

   • To manage security, see User Account and Password Management - Getting Started.

Step 4: ContinuousDataReplicator Agent Configuration

1. Create a Replication Set.

2. Add a Replication Pair.

Step 5: Run the Replication Operation and Recover Data

• Perform a replication operation, see Start Data Replication Activity.

• Perform a recovery operation, see Copyback File System Data from a Recovery Point or the Live Copy.
