Configuring Compliance Lock

You can configure compliance lock in Commvault using the following procedure.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Storage Resources > Storage Pools.

2. Right-click the desired <Storage Pool>, and select Properties > Storage Pool Copy.

3. Select the box for compliance lock to enable it.

   Notes

   • Retention cannot be increased or decreased on WORM storage lock enabled copy. Once enabled, they cannot be disabled. This will be applicable on all the dependent copies.
   • Retention settings are not applicable on a storage pool in case of only the compliance lock. Retention settings are applicable per dependant copy and retention cannot be lowered once compliance lock is enabled.

4. Click OK.

   Note

   For non-deduplicated storage pools, WORM lock is same as the retention set on the dependant policy copies.

5. Enter the confirmation text string, and then click OK.
