You must create a NAS client to perform archive operations.

Procedure

  1. On the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client > NAS / Network Share.

  2. In the Client Name box, enter the client name.

  3. In the Host Name box, enter the fully qualified NetApp vserver name/IP.

  4. Under Backup Type, Select the Network Share check box.

  5. Under the NDMP checkbox, specify the NDMP login credentials for the client computer:

    1. In the NDMP Login box, enter the name of the NDMP user.

    2. In the NDMP Password box, enter the NDMP password.

      Tip

If you do not have an NDMP password, run the following command on the file server to generate the password: nacluster1::security> vserver services ndmp generate-password -user vsadmin -vserver <vserver_name>

    3. From the Detect MediaAgent list, select a Media Agent.

    4. Click Preview.

    5. Click OK.

A pseudo NAS client is created on the CommCell Console.
