To identify target devices after decoupling an instant clone, the Commvault software uses a naming convention.
When you configure decoupled instant clone and the instant clone expires or is deleted, then the Commvault does not manage the instant clone anymore. When the clone is no more needed, you can manually remove the clone and unmap the target devices that host the clone.
To identify the target device after the expiration or deletion of the instant clone, the Commvault uses the following name convention for target devices:
CV_DCPLD_Clone_symm_dev_id
where:

CV_DCPLD_Clone_ is a constant value.

symm_dev_id is the device identifier.
