With the physical raw device mapping (pRDM) mount operation, you can mount snapshots directly on VMs that do not have dedicated Fibre Channel (FC) adapters, without using a physical computer as a mount proxy computer.
Caution
For VMware VMs that use RDM disks to host UNIX file systems, the storage array must present the RDM LUNs through iSCSI. The ESXi proxy used for the pRDM mount operation must have iSCSI connectivity to the storage device. The operation will fail if iSCSI is not configured.

Note
You cannot use the VMs that are created on the NFS datastore for pRDM.
