To use a restricted group of target devices for in the mount operation, create a storage group, then add thin devices (TDEVs) that can be selected as target devices. Then, specify the storage group in the Commvault software.
Before You Begin
Do not associate the storage group to any storage resource pool in the storage array.
Procedure

Create a storage group in the storage array.

Using the EMC Unisphere GUI, add target devices to the storage group.

In the Commvault software, from the navigation pane, click Manage > Infrastructure.
The Infrastructure page appears.

Click Arrays.

On the Arrays page, in the Name column, select the Dell EMC PowerMax/VMAX3/VMAX/Symmetrix array.
The Overview page of the array appears.

Under Configuration tab, in the Snap configurations tile, click Edit
.The Edit configuration dialog box appears.

In the Use SnapVX target devices from storage group box, type the name of the storage group.

Click OK.
