When you upgrade to Commvault Platform Release 11.40 or later, the software automatically creates a container backup plan in the Command Center for each existing data protection storage policy. The workloads associated with these storage policies are also linked to the newly created backup plan.
This integration enables you to manage storage policies and their associated workloads directly from the Command Center. The container backup plan does not include any data backup scheduling policies. After the conversion, existing associations between workloads and their scheduling policies remain unchanged, ensuring that backups continue to run according to their configured schedules.
When you create a new storage policy in the CommCell Console, a corresponding container backup plan is automatically generated in the Command Center to keep the storage policy settings and backup plans synchronized.
