You can use the Command Center to install Commvault updates to the CommServe server on demand.
You can also create repeatable schedules to install the updates.
Note
-
Commvault Version 11 clients running Feature Release 11.24 or earlier are not compatible with CommServe servers running Long-Term Support Release 11.40 or later. To prevent compatibility and communication issues, upgrade all clients running 11.24 or earlier to a supported feature release before upgrading the CommServe server to 11.40 or later.
To identify and upgrade 11.24 and earlier clients on the CommServe server, do the following:
-
Create a new Smart Server Group.
-
Configure the Smart Rule with: Client version v11 and feature release less than or equal to 24..
-
Run a client upgrade job on the Smart Server Group to upgrade all clients running 11.24 or earlier to the current feature release of the CommServe server.
-
After all clients are upgraded, upgrade the CommServe server to 11.40 or later.
-
-
If the CommServe server is at Service Pack 13 or a previous service pack, and you want to update it Feature Release 11.28 or a more recent feature release, you must first update it to Feature Release 11.24 or Feature Release 11.26.
-
If the CommServe server is at Service Pack 16 or a previous service pack, and you want to update it to Commvault Platform Release 2023 or a more recent platform release, you must first update it to Platform Release 2022E.
-
If you update a DDB MediaAgent to a newer release version, make sure to update all other DDB MediaAgents that share the same storage to the same release version.
