Add a VM Group for MEDITECH

To identify a specific set of MEDITECH virtual machines to back up or restore, add a VM group.

Define a Backup Plan

Define a backup plan that specifies the storage, retention, and backup schedule to be used for the VM group.

Add a VM Group

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtual machines.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  2. Click the VM groups tab.

    The VM group page appears.

  3. Under VM groups, click Add VM group.

    The Add VM Group dialog box appears.

  4. Add the hypervisor and click Next.

    The Add a Plan section appears.

  5. Add the backup plan and click Next.

    The Add VM Group section appears.

  6. Enter the name of the VM group and configure the content area.

  7. Click Add and select Rule to discover virtual machines automatically, or Content to select the domains for the VM group.

    Note

    You must provide the information in this area to create the VM group.

Enable IntelliSnap Configuration for the VM Group

  1. Move the IntelliSnap toggle switch to the right.

  2. Move the Enable Meditech toggle switch to the right.

    Provide the following information:

    1. In the System Name box, type a unique name to identify the MEDITECH module that you want to back up, for example 'EMR'.

    2. In the Master node box, type the name of the node for the MEDITECH module host.

    3. In the Listener port box, type the port that you use to access the MEDITECH MBI listener. The default listener port is 2987.

    4. From the Meditech system credentials list, select existing credentials or create new credentials.

      Steps to add new credentials

      To add credentials to the Credential Manager, click the plus button (+), and then specify the following in the Add Credential dialog box.

      1. In the Credential name box, enter the name of the credential.

      2. In the User account box, enter the name of the user account.

      3. In the Password box, enter the password.

      4. In the Description box, you can enter a description of the credentials.

      5. Click Save.

    5. In the MBF timeout box, type the timeout value (in seconds). The default timeout value is 90 seconds.

  3. Click Submit to save the VM group.
