Changing the Auto-Generated IQN (Optional)

IQN is the iSCSI Qualified Name used by the initiator to distinguish between devices. This is assigned automatically when a new VTL is created and uses the following format:

  • For a medium changer the IQN is displayed in the following format:

    iqn.2006-06.com.commvault.vtl.<vtl name>.autoloader

  • For a drive the IQN is displayed in the following format:

    iqn.2006-06.com.commvault.vtl.<vtl name>.drive<drive number>

It is common to use the auto-generated IQN assigned, but can be changed if a different format is needed.
