Backed up or archived data may be permanently deleted so that it is no longer available for browsing and recovery.
Although this data is unavailable for browsing and recovery, the actual data remains on the media until it is erased by Commvault software. This applies to both disk and tape media.
Note
Permanently deleted data cannot be restored.
