Data Written Size
The Data Written size shown in the several dialog boxes, (for example, Job Details, Data on Media, etc) and summaries (for example, Data Management Job History) is the size of the data written by Commvault software to the StoreOnce client and must not be confused with the size of data transferred over the network.
Size on disk is the non-deduplication data size. It might be higher than the application size for non-deduplication backups, because of metadata size. This might result in space savings shown as a negative number in the Disk Library Utilization Report.
Note
Used space is calculated as Total Capacity minus Free Space. Note that there may be discrepancies between the values shown in Commvault and those displayed in the vendor consoles (such as HPE StoreOnce or DD Boost Client). These differences are typically due to vendor systems including additional overhead or reserved space in their calculations.
Data Immutability Support
Data Immutability is supported for HPE StoreOnce Catalyst libraries. For more information, see Data Immutability.
