You can restore the Salesforce metadata to a folder that resides on one of your clients. Data is restored from media. When data is restored from media, the data is restored to a staging location, and then the data is upload to Salesforce.
Metadata supported by the Salesforce API is supported for restore operations.
If you need to modify or customize the metadata that you backed up, perform the following operations:

Restore the metadata to a file system.

Modify the corresponding xml files.

Use the Force.com Migration Tool tool to deploy the metadata to the Salesforce organization. For more information, go to the Salesforce help website, Force.com Migration Tool.
Before You Begin
You must have a subclient that includes metadata. For more information, see Backing Up Salesforce Metadata.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Cloud Apps > instance.

Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.

On the Browse and Restore Options dialog box, make the following selections:

Select Latest Backup.

Select the Metadata View check box.

Click View Content.
-

Select the metadata that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the General tab, provide the destination information:

Select the File System check box.
-
From the Destination Client list, select the server to which you want to restore.

In the Number of Streams box, type the number of streams that the software uses for the restore operation.

In the Destination Path box, type the full path to the staging location.

On the Job Initiation tab, specify whether to run the restore now or if it will be scheduled.

Click OK.
