Add an Apache Hive Subclient for Hadoop

You can create a Hive subclient for data that has different backup requirements.

As a best practice, create different subclients for managed and external tables.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Big data.

   The Big data page appears.

2. Click the cluster that has the Hive app added.

   The cluster page appears.

3. Under Hadoop Apps, click Hive.

   The app page appears.

4. On Table groups tab, on the right of the page, click Add table group.

   The Add Hive subclient page appears.

5. In the Name box, type a name for the subclient.

6. In the Table list, select the tables to include in the subclient.

7. From the Plan list, select the backup plan to use for the subclient.

8. Click Save.
