Add a Server to Be the Access Node for Hadoop

Add a server to be the access node for Hadoop. You can add multiple access nodes.

Before You Begin

  • You need the following information:

    • Host name

    • User name and password

    • OS type

  • Hadoop only supports Linux access nodes.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

    The Servers page appears.

  2. From the Advanced options list, select Add server.

    The Add Server dialog box appears.

  3. You can add server using the following two methods:

    1. Select Install software packages on your computer.

    2. In the Host name box, enter the host name.

    3. From the OS type option, select an OS type.

    4. If you do not use the Use saved credentials toggle key, enter the detail in the following boxes: User Name, Password and Confirm Password.

    5. If you move the Use saved credentials toggle key to right, either select a saved credential from Credential list, or add a new credential. To add a new credential, do the following:

      1. Click +.

        The Add Credential dialog box appears.

      2. From the Account type list, select the user account type.

      3. In the Credential vault box, select a credential vault to store, share, and update account credentials with shared resources in your environment.

      4. In the Credential name box, enter the credential name of the database user.

      5. In the User account box, enter the user account that has access to the database server.

      6. If you move Use SSH key toggle key to right, in the SSH key box, enter the SSk key path. You can also use the Upload button to provide the key path.

      7. In the Password/Passphrase box, enter the password of the database user.

      8. In the Description box, enter a description of the credential.

      9. Click Save.

    6. From the Select package(s) list, select Hadoop, NoSQL and File Server Core.

    7. In the Installation location box, enter the installation path.

    1. Select Complete the installation if software packages are already installed on your computer.

    2. In the Host name box, enter the host name.

    3. In the Server name box, enter the specific name for the server.

    4. In CVD port on server box, enter the CVD port number.

  4. Click Install.
