Adding an Access Node for Amazon RDS for Oracle

Add an access node for Amazon RDS for Oracle.

Before You Begin

The access node client must have Commvault Feature Release 11.20 or a more recent release installed, or have the same feature release installed as that of the CommServe computer.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

    The Servers page appears.

  2. In the upper-right area of the page, click Add server.

The Add server dialog box appears.

  3. Select one of the following installation methods:

    • To install software on the computer, click Install software packages on your computer, and then enter the following information:

      1. In the Host name box, type the host name.

      2. For the OS Type, click the operating system that is installed on the server.

      3. To specify the software cache, from the Software cache list, select the cache.

      4. Specify the server credentials or the user name and password:

        • To use saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle to the right, then select a credential.

        • If you are not using saved credentials, enter the User name and Password to be used.

      5. From the Select package(s) list, select Oracle, Virtual Server, and Cloud Apps, and then click OK.

      6. In the Installation location box, specify the installation path.

      7. To install a restore-only agent, move the Restore only agent toggle key to the right.

You can choose to install an agent in restore-only mode if you want to use the client only as a destination to restore backup data. Agents installed in this mode do not consume any licenses and do not allow backup operations.

      8. To reboot the servers in the server group after the installation, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.

    • To complete an installation when the software is already installed on the server, click Complete the installation if software packages are already installed on your computer, and then enter the following information:

      1. In the Host name box, type the host name.

      2. In the Server name box, type the server name.

  4. Click Install.
