You can add an access node to protect your Google Cloud Storage data.
Procedure

Click +.
The Add a new Access node dialog box appears.

From the Deployment type list, select one of the following:

Vendor Native Deployment: To deploy the access node automatically using Google Cloud resources.

Manual Deployment: To manually install the access node on a Google Cloud VM.

Complete the steps based on the deployment type you selected:

If you selected Vendor Native Deployment, do the following:
a. From the Platform list, select the operating system (for example, Linux).
b. In the Instance name box, enter a name for the access node.
c. In the Project ID box, enter the Google Cloud project ID.
To view your available projects, click gcloud projects list.
d. In the Zone box, enter the zone where the access node will be deployed.
For example, us-central1-a.
To view available zones, click gcloud compute zones list.
e. In the Subnet URL box, enter the subnet URL in the format:
projects/PROJECT_ID/regions/REGION/subnetworks/SUBNET_NAME
To view available subnets, click gcloud compute networks subnets list.
f. In the VPC network URL box, enter the VPC network URL in the format:
projects/PROJECT_ID/global/networks/NETWORK_NAME
g. Optional: Enable the External IP toggle if you want to assign an external IP address to the access node.
h. Log in to Google Cloud Shell and execute the command(s) displayed.
Click Open Cloud Shell to launch the Google Cloud Shell.
i. Click Close after the access node is successfully created.

If you selected Manual Deployment, do the following:
a. Download and install the access node package on a Google Cloud VM that meets the minimum requirements.
Download package for the platform:
- Linux (64-Bit)
- Windows (64-Bit)
b. Install the Access node and authenticate using the authcode displayed.
c. Click Close after the installation is complete.
