Adding a SAP HANA Database Server

You can add SAP HANA database server so that you can protect SAP HANA databases.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database Overview page appears.

  2. Click Add server from the upper-right corner of page.

    The Select Database Type page appears.

  3. Select SAP HANA, and then click Next.

    The Configure database server page appears.

  4. Select Interactive installation Install software interactively on database servers, and do the following:

    1. To select a backup gateway, move the Select backup gateway toggle key to the right and select a backup gateway from the list, or add a new backup gateway and then select it.

    2. Download and install the SAP HANA database server package on the SAP HANA database server to be protected.

    3. Install the SAP HANA database server package on the server you want to back up and authenticate using the authcode.

    4. Return to this window after the agent installation has completed.

    5. From the Server name list, select the newly installed servers after completing the agent installations.

  5. Click Next.

    The Select A Plan dialog box appears.

  6. Select an existing backup plan or create a backup plan for SAP HANA. For more information about backup plan backup plan creation, refer to create backup plan.

    The backup plan defines how often the software backs up the database and the log files, and where it stores the backups.

  7. Click Next.

    The Summary page appears.

  8. Review the summary and click Finish to add the SAP HANA database server.
