You can perform a full backup of an Azure SQL managed instance.
Azure SQL Native (Export-Based) Backups – Automated Backup Synchronization
Note
The following synchronization behavior applies only to Azure SQL Native (export-based) protection.
For Azure SQL Native (export-based) protection, Azure automated backups and long-term retention (LTR) metadata are synchronized:

Approximately every 24 hours.

During browse operations (when accessing the recovery point calendar).

At the completion of an export backup job.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Overview page appears.

On the Instances tab, in the row for the Azure SQL database instance that you want to back up, click the action button
, and then click Backup.The Backup options dialog box appears.

Under Backup level, select Full.

Click Submit.
