When you move or restore the CommServe database to a new computer that uses a name different from the original CommServe computer, you must inform the servers about the new CommServe name.
Important
The approximate time needed for this operation is 30 seconds per online physical client and 20 seconds per offline physical client. Use these time estimates to calculate the time required to run this operation in your CommCell environment.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.
The Servers page appears.

On the top right corner of the page, click from the Advanced options list, select Update CommServe for servers.
The Update CommServe Hostname For Servers wizard appears.

On the CommServe Hostname page:

From the Old CommServe hostname list, select the old hostname.

In the New CommServe hostname box, enter the new CommServe hostname.

Click Next.
The Servers page appears.

From the Servers list, select the servers that need to be updated with the new CommServe hostname.

Click Submit.
Alternative Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > System.
The System page appears.

Click the Name Management tile.
The Name management page appears.

Click the Update CommServe for servers tile.
The Update CommServe Hostname For Servers wizard appears.

On the CommServe Hostname page:

From the Old CommServe hostname list, select the old hostname.

In the New CommServe hostname box, enter the new CommServe hostname.

Click Next.
The Servers page appears.

From the Servers list, select the servers to move to the new domain.

Click Submit.
