Changing the Domain Name for Servers

If you move one or more servers to a different domain or the current domain is renamed, you must specify the new name in the CommCell environment.

Before You Begin

Update the new domain name in the server computer's operating system.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

   The Servers page appears.

2. On the top right corner of the page, click Advanced options > Update domain name.

   The Update Domain Name of Servers wizard appears.

3. On the Domain Name page:

   1. From the Old domain name list, select the old domain.

   2. From the New domain name list, select the new domain to move the servers to.

   3. Click Next.

   The Servers page appears.

4. From the Servers list, select the servers to move to the new domain.

5. Click Submit.

Alternative Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > System.

   The System page appears.

2. Click the Name Management tile.

   The Name management page appears.

3. Click the Update domain name tile.

   The Update Domain Name of Servers wizard appears.

4. On the Domain Name page:

   1. From the Old domain name list, select the old domain.

   2. In the New domain name box, enter a new domain name.

   3. Click Next.

   The Servers page appears.

5. From the Servers list, select the servers to move to the new domain.

6. Click Submit.
