Cloning a Storage Copy

You can clone an existing copy associated with a storage policy. Cloning a copy is typically performed when you want to copy the retention and other settings of an existing copy but use a different storage. All properties from the source copy are replicated in the target copy.

Review the following considerations:

  • If the source copy uses a deduplication storage pool, you can select only another deduplication pool while cloning. Other pool types, such as non-deduplication storage pool or tape storage pool, are not supported.

  • If the source copy is a secondary copy and uses a tape storage pool, you can select only another tape pool while cloning.
