You can perform PostgreSQL dump backups with plan-based schedule.
Configure schedules for FSbased Backupset
When you associate a plan with an instance, the schedule applies only to the fsbased backup set by default.
The plan-based schedules do not run for dumpbased backup sets. It prevents both backup types from running at the same time and reduces unnecessary load on the database server.
Configure schedules for Dumpbased Backupset
To configure backup for dumpbased database groups, do the following:
-
Navigate to Protect > Database.
The database overview page appears.
-
Go to the Instances tab.
-
Click the created instance. For more information about instance creation, see Create a PostgreSQL instance.
The instance overview page appears.
-
In the General tile, click the Edit icon available at the top-right corner of the tile.
The Edit PostgreSQL instance dialog box appears.
-
Move the Run dump backups with plan-based schedules key to right to ensure that the plan schedules are attached to dumpbased backupsets.
-
Click Update.
Configure Schedules for Both Dumpbased and FSbased Backupsets
If you want to configure schedules for both backup sets, leave the Run dump backups with plan-based schedules option disabled. This setting allows the plan-based schedules to run for the FSbased backupset.
For dumpbased database groups, create and attach a separate schedule policy. To create a schedule policy, see schedule policy in Command Center.
