Configuring the NetApp E-Series/LSI Storage Array Using Array Management

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the NetApp E-Series / LSI storage array and its configuration information to the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

Ensure that proxy computers are configured and have access to the storage device by adding a temporary LUN to the host using the Storage Management Console.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select NetApp E-Series/LSI.

  2. In the Array name box, enter the serial number for the array.

    The Storage Subsystem World Wide Identifier (WWID) is the serial number.

  3. In the Control host box, enter the name of the server computer where the SMI-S server is installed.

  4. In the Description box, enter the description for the array.

  5. From the Saved credentials list, select the existing credentials or add new credentials you want to use.

    Steps to add new credentials

    To add credentials to the Credential Manager, click the plus button (+), and then specify the following in the Add Credential dialog box.

    1. In the Credential name box, enter the name of the credential.

    2. In the User account box, enter the name of the user account.

    3. In the Password box, enter the password.

    4. In the Description box, you can enter a description of the credentials.

    5. Click Save.

    Note

    • If you created a user account for Common Information Module Object Module (CIMOM) access when installing the SMI-S provider, then select or add the credentials of that user.

    • If you didn't create a user account for CIMOM, then select or add the default credentials. The default user name is guest. The default password is guest.

  6. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

  1. From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click Select All.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click Next.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

Snap Configurations

  1. Configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

    Note

    Ensure that the following snapshot configuration properties are configured for REST API support:

    • REST Management IP

    • REST Server User name

    • REST Server Password

  2. Click Submit.
