Configuring Parallel Data Transfer Operations

You can configure the maximum number of concurrent read and write operations for a MediaAgent. This setting defines the maximum number of data streams that the MediaAgent can handle simultaneously.

To simplify configuration and optimize performance, you can enable Automatic Parallel Data Transfer Operations. When enabled, this feature:

  • Analyses the number of available MediaAgents and their hardware specifications.
  • Automatically adjusts stream limits to deliver the best possible performance.
  • Ensures that existing configurations and active backups are not affected.

On a new MediaAgent installation, the Automatic Parallel Data Transfer Operations option is enabled by default. On an existing MediaAgent installation, you are recommended to turn on the option to take advantage of the performance benefits it provides.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Environment > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click the MediaAgents tile.
