Create a backup plan that you can use for MongoDB. If you already have a backup plan that you can use, you can skip this step.
Note
If native snapshot engine is used for snapshots, then the Retention period for snap copy must be set to 0 days.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.
The Plans page appears.

Click Create plan, and then select Backup.
The Create backup plan page appears.

In the Plan name, enter the name of the backup plan.

From the Storage list, select the storage to use for the backups.
To add a new storage, beside Storage, click
, then configure the desired storage option. -
To configure backups, select the Configure backups check box.

Under Frequency, specify the frequency of the backup.

Under Retention period, specify the duration for which the backup must be retained.

To specify the additional retention, such as weekly full backups, select the Add extended retention check box, and then add rules.

To add an additional storage copy, select Add second copy check box.

From the Storage list, select or add the storage to use for the backups.

Under Backups to copy, select the backup type.

Under Retention period, enter the amount of time to retain the backups.
To specify additional retention period, such as weekly full backups, select the Add extended retention check box, and then add rules.

To add a third optional storage copy for maximum redundancy, select Add third copy check box, and configure the storage, backup type and retention settings.

To add snap, select Configure snapshots check box.

Under Frequency, specify the time interval for the snapshots to be taken.

Under Number of snapshots retained, specify the number of snaps that must be retained.
Note
The Configure snapshots option is workload-specific. You will see this option during onboarding only if the workload supports snapshot configuration.
