Installing Couchbase Package on Cluster Nodes

You can install the Couchbase package on your cluster nodes.

Note

For Couchbase, the push installation is not supported on nodes that already have existing Commvault instances.

Before You Begin

  • You need the following information:

    • Host name

    • User name and password

    • OS type

  • Make sure that you have a valid database subscription.

  • Verify that the Commvault NoSQL package is installed on all access nodes.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Service catalog.

  2. On the Welcome page, in the Big Data tile, click Configure.

  3. On the Configure big data app, select Couchbase, and then click Next.

  4. On the Configure Couchbase cluster page, you can install the Couchbase package on your cluster nodes using the following two methods:

    1. Select Interactive Installation.

    2. If you want to use select a Backup gateway, do the following:

      1. Move the Select backup gateway toggle key to right.

      2. From the Backup gateway list, either select an existing backup gateway or add a new one. To add a new backup gateway, do the following:

        1. Click +.

        2. On the Add a new backup gateway dialog box, follow the instruction to add the backup gateway.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install Couchbase package.

    4. From the Couchbase access node list, select the newly installed access node.

    5. Click Next.

    1. Select Push Installation.

    2. Click Add to add the Couchbase servers.

    3. On the Perform remote install on node dialog box, inter the following details:

      1. In the Host name box, enter the host name of the Couchbase node.

      2. Select the following OS type: Windows or Unix and Linux.

      3. If you do not use the Use saved credentials toggle key, enter the details in the following boxes: User name, Password and Confirm password.

      4. If you move the Use saved credentials toggle to right, either select a saved credential from Credential list or add a new credential. To add a new credential, do the following:

        1. Click +.

          The Add Credential dialog box appears.

        2. In the Account type list, select an account.

        3. In the Credential vault list, select the credential vault.

        4. In the credential name box, enter the name of the credential.

        5. In the User account box, enter the user account.

        6. If you move the Use SSH key toggle key to right, select a SSH key path.

        7. In the Password box, enter the password.

        8. In the Description box, enter a description of the credential.

        9. Click Save.

      5. In the Installation location box, enter the location for the install.

      6. Click Install.

    4. From the Couchbase access nodes list, select the newly installed access node.

    5. Click Next.

  5. On the Plan page, select a plan, and then click Next.

  6. On Add Couchbase cluster page, enter the following details:

    1. In the Custer name box, enter the name of Couchbase cluster.

    2. In the Host name box, enter the host name.

    3. In Port number, type the port number used for Couchbase connection.

    4. From the Couchbase db credential list, select an existing Couchbase database credential or add a new one. To add a new database credential, do the following:

      1. Click +.

      2. On the Add Credential dialog box, enter the following details:

        1. In the Credential name box, enter the credential name of the database user.

        2. In the Username box, enter the user name of the database user account.

        3. In the Password box, enter the password of the database user.

        4. In the Description box, enter a description of the credential.

      3. Click Save.

  7. Select the following Staging type:

    1. File system

    2. S3

      • If you select S3, do the following:

        1. From the Authentication list, select Access and secret keys.

        2. In the Service host box, enter the Amazon S3 endpoint in the following format: s3.amazonaws.com.

          For some cloud service providers, the Service host box is populated with the default value for that cloud service provider.

  8. In Path box, enter the full path to the staging location to use for backups.

    Note

    The path must be a shared path among all nodes for both File system and S3 staging types.

  9. Click Next.

  10. On the Summary page, a validation message is displayed indicating the successful configuration of Couchbase.

  11. Click Finish.
