SaaS users can now access guided help, proactive insights, automation support, and log analysis directly within their console. This capability is being rolled out in phases — contact your Commvault representative if you’d like early access.
Arlie on SaaS is now integrated with Commvault support
Arlie, your AI assistant, now offers direct escalation to our support team within the SaaS experience. If Arlie can't resolve your issue, you can transition smoothly to a live agent without losing context — the full conversation and diagnostic details are automatically preserved. Plus, you can now view and create support tickets directly through the Arlie chat interface, delivering a truly seamless end-to-end support experience. Commvault MCP Server
We’re introducing Commvault MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server — an early adopter preview that enables natural, interactive management of your Commvault environment via your tool of choice.
Admins can now use simple chat-style requests to:

Backup Support for Azure SQL Managed Instance Databases Encrypted with Service-Managed Keys
Commvault now supports backups of Azure SQL Managed Instance databases encrypted with service-managed keys. This feature enables DBAs to efficiently back up databases up to 2TB in size using the Microsoft SQL Server Data-Tier Application Framework, without switching to customer-managed keys. This reduces key management overhead, enhances data protection, and enables streamlined database management with less administrative effort.To use this feature, customers must configure an additional setting in the product. Failback for intelliSnap based primary copies for public cloud hypervisors
This feature mitigates the gap of supporting failback operation for scenarios where primary backup copy is using IntelliSnap based backups with a streaming backup copy in the DR region. Customers can now use the steaming backup copy to failover and failback during a disaster event even if the primary copy is using IntelliSnap backups. This is supported across all major public cloud hypervisors, including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. It delivers business continuity, minimizes downtime and data loss during unexpected disruptions, and enhances operational resilience for cloud infrastructure.
GCP boot driver injection for Replication
GCP Boot Driver Injection streamlines your replication and failover of on-premises VMs to Google Cloud. Commvault Cloud automatically injects the required Google Compute Engine drivers, eliminating the need for manual driver installation on source instances. This feature simplifies Auto Recovery and disaster recovery testing, saving significant time and effort, especially for large-scale migrations.
Virtual machines continuous replication via HPE Zerto (Early Adopter)
To provide customers new zero RPO, we have partnered with and integrated HPE Zerto with Commvault cloud. This confirms that your data is replicated in real-time to a secondary site which can be used during a disaster event providing minimal data loss and downtime.

Consolidate application credential storage to Credential Vault
Commvault’s Credential Vault securely stores application credentials, which have now been expanded to include additional user login information used for SMTP, webhook, identity servers, and network paths. Administrators can also integrate with third-party vaults to simplify credential management while enabling compliance with organizational security standards.
Threat Scanning in AWS Cleanroom for Software
Threat Scanning in AWS Cleanroom enhances recovery security using automation to detect and report anomalies in recovered resources. Customers can easily opt-in malware scanning during recovery and access threat information. Incremental backup support for Google Cloud BigQuery
The addition of incremental backup support for Google Cloud BigQuery improves the backup SLAs and enhances storage efficiency. This feature enables the backup change history to capture the data changes on the BigQuery tables and store only changed data.
Object storage flat mode scan
Flat mode scan will be enabled by default for all new and existing object storage backups.
This change reduces API calls, cutting costs and reducing scan time.
Compatible with Azure Blob, ADLS Gen2, Google Cloud Storage, Amazon S3 General Purpose Buckets, OCI Object Storage, IBM Cloud Object Storage, Alibaba Cloud OSS, and fully S3-compatible services.

Credential Vault entries in the CommCell Console
To consolidate user credential management in the CommCell Console, the traditional username and password fields have been replaced with Credential Vault entries.
Any previously saved usernames and passwords have been automatically migrated to Credential Vault and applied in place of the old login fields.
To update or manage these credentials, go to the Command Center and navigate to:
Manage > Security > Credential Vault.

New in Forest Recovery: Recover AD to Clean VM for ransomware isolation
Recover AD to clean VM is a secure recovery option that restores only the Active Directory database to a newly provisioned virtual machine built from a clean ISO image. By eliminating reliance on existing infrastructure, this approach helps make sure that the restored domain controller is free from ransomware or other compromise. Administrators don’t need to supply a VM, and the underlying operating system is built fresh—aligning with clean OS recovery practices increasingly adopted across the industry. This method is essential for safely restoring Active Directory following a cyberattack.

Commvault version 11.36 will be the last supported version for IBM i 6.1. Customers can still use this agent per the obsolescence policy.
File System TrueUp Optimization
TrueUp is a process that compares the data backed up with the expected data, enabling data integrity and accuracy. However, it should only be run when needed to minimize any impact on system performance and resources and to avoid potential disruptions during the backup process.

SaaS Applications and Active Directory
SaaS Apps: Allow tenant admins to edit copy properties associated to bundled storage
Tenant admins can now directly manage the compliance lock feature for SaaS application workloads with bundled storage, such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Google Workspace, Endpoints, and Salesforce. This capability allows tenant admins to toggle compliance lock on or off in the storage copy property section of the plan to perform delete operations if needed, while still adhering to the existing approval process. It is important to note that if the compliance lock is turned off, it must be manually re-enabled later.
Additionally, other properties in the storage policy copy section of the plan, like retention days, can now be edited. Please note that this retention value does not impact the following workloads: M365, Google Workspace, and Dynamics 365.

Support for Azure Elastic SAN on VMs
Commvault now offers support for Azure Elastic SAN on VMs, enabling users to protect and recover data stored on SAN-level shared storage within Azure. This feature enhances data protection capabilities for Azure VMs and AKS containers, providing peace of mind knowing that important data is safeguarded and can be easily recovered when needed.
Support for Incremental Backups using Amazon DynamoDB Streams
This feature enables scheduled incremental backups by using Amazon DynamoDB streams to capture incremental changes. Customers can implement cost-effective data protection for their Amazon DynamoDB tables.
Support for User Managed Service Account for Google Cloud VMs
The User Managed Service Account feature allows you to directly associate the necessary Google Cloud service account with the access node. This removes the need to share the private key with Commvault, offering a more secure option for customers with organizational policies restricting key sharing. AD object security now preserved in backups
We have enhanced our Active Directory backup capabilities to include the nTSecurityDescriptor attribute, so that object-level security settings—like explicit ACLs and the "Protect object from accidental deletion" flag—are fully captured and restored.
