With the fan-out configuration, you can create multiple vault copies or replica copies and multiple mirror copies, using the same storage policy with a primary snapshot copy as the source copy.
You must configure storage virtual machine (SVM) mappings on all secondary snapshot copies. During snapshot replication, if there are multiple relationships for a given source volume, the Commvault software uses SVM mappings to define the precedence for selecting relationships.
When you create the first snapshot copy of type vault/replica or of type mirror, that snapshot copy is the default copy. Other snapshot copies that are associated with that storage policy are non-default copies.
