Restoring a Resource

Commvault’s threat-aware restore intelligently guides recovery by highlighting infected restore points within the restore interface (such as calendar or timeline views) and then restoring a resource to a clean point in time.

You can use the following recovery methods:

  • Manual recovery (calendar-based restore). Select a point-in-time restore set while excluding detected malware from the restore path.

  • Synthetic recovery. Create a restore set from the last known good versions of files across backup sets, removing malware and minimizing rollback/disruption.

  • Forensic recovery. Restore the detected threat content to a cleanroom environment or out-of-place destination to support incident response, validation, and deeper threat analysis.
