To back up CIFS shares using Linux access nodes, verify that you environment meets the system requirements for the Linux access nodes.

For NAS CIFS share backups using Linux access nodes through automatic mount operations, configure the FileShareAutoMountOptions additional setting at the subclient level to specify custom mount options when the share is mounted.

The samba-client or smbclient and the cifs-utils packages must be installed on the Linux access nodes if they are used to back up CIFS shares.
